DAHR Systems (Dual Agent Hose Reel)
DAHR Systems (Dual Agent Hose Reel)

The Firenor Dual Agent Hose Reel (DAHR) is a high quality supplemental fire extinguishing device intended for manual use against smaller fires on and in the vicinity of helicopter decks, as well as areas with high risk of hydrocarbon fires where the primary fixed firefighting system may have limited reach. The DAHR unit combines a foam solution with compatible dry chemicals to produce a mixture that is highly efficient at extinguishing fires involving flammable liquids and offers excellent re-ignition control. When this mixture is deployed, the dry powder rapidly knocks out the fire while the foam solution secures the hazard and contributes to the cooling of the fuel.

SYSTEM DESIGN

The DAHR system is constructed of high quality marine and offshore appropriate materials and is designed to be fully compliant with all governing rules and regulation for use on vessel-based, marine installation, and offshore installation helicopter decks.

The compact, adjustable size of the DAHR unit allows the unit to be easily installed on helicopter deck access platforms in such a way that the roof appears flush with the helicopter safe landing area (SLA), offering an ideal, non-intrusive fire protection system for any helicopter deck.

VERIFICATION

Every system can be customized, upon request, for compliance with applicable rules, regulations and project specific requirements as well as standard such as CE, FM, UL, ASME, DIN, DNV, BV, NMD, IMO, NFPA, Norsok. Full documentation for any tailor-made products are available and include all necessary certifications, third party verifications such as DNV/GL, BV, ABS, etc., and full scale test reports, if required.

FOAM SUPPLY

The foam supply for this system can be provided by a separate tank outside or inside the skid, or from a central foam system, depending on the exact project specifications. The foam can be mixed with a variety of solutions listed below:

  • Balanced pressure foam proportioner
  • Foam inductor
  • Constant flow orifice
FEATURES
  • Flexible Design
  • Compatible with various hazardous area classification and regulations (ATEX, UL, CSA etc)
  • Special purpose hand nozzle capable of simultaneous discharge of both extinguishing agents
  • Self-unwinding reel with hose that allows for rapid deployment
